Cafe Capitol Hill

About Cafe:

Café Capitol Hill is a fellowship meal served on the third and fourth Sunday of each month to our homeless neighbors on the Hill. This warm hospitality is more that just serving a meal - we offer a safe place to those living on the margins of our community - and a place where they can feel at home.

(Check the event calendar for exact dates)

CHUMC also provides space on the second Sunday of every month to Christ Our Shepherd. This allows our church provide hot meal to our neighbors three Sundays a month.

  • Special Cafes:
CHUMC also sponsors special Cafes during the year. In 2007, we hosted our 2nd Annual Super Bowl Party. Our community also comes together to host joint congregational and cafe potlucks.

  • Volunteer for Cafe:
The Café can always use your helping hand - volunteer to help prepare the meal, serve or even share a meal with our Cafe guests.

  • Sponsor A Cafe:
Interested in sponsoring a Cafe? Your gift of $150 can feed 35-40 people. You can sponsor Cafe in honor of a loved one or just because. For more information, please contact Sean Soendker Nicholson or Andrea Wood.

  • Support Cafe as You Travel:
Miniature toiletries are welcome gifts for the guests of Café Capitol Hill. You can leave the items in the wicker basket in the hallway outside the church office.
