Stockings for homeless and needy children in our community -- please help!

Our congregation is celebrating the 18th season of providing Christmas stockings to homeless and needy children in our community. Capitol Hill Group Ministry provides the names and ages of the children; our congregation provides beautiful, personalized, hand-sewn stockings filled with small gifts, fruit, and other tasty treats. You can support this important outreach ministry in the following ways:

  • Through a monetary gift: put a donation (cash or check) in a pew envelope and make a note “for the Christmas Stocking Project,” and place it in the offering plate.
  • The “Alternative Gift” option: donate $40, the cost of one complete stocking in honor or celebration of someone on your shopping list! In return, you will receive a beautiful gift card that pictures a stocking and describes the project. Cards are displayed at the Usher’s table.

And stay turned for details for the annual Christmas Stocking Project Wrapping Party! Folks will be in the fellowship hall munching on yummy treats and wrapping the hundreds of gifts that will make each stocking a joy to receive for a neighborhood child on Christmas morning.
