Help Bring Easter Joy to Children in Need

As Easter quickly approaches, help us make this time of joy extra special for children in our neighborhood! CHUMC is working with Capitol Hill Group Ministry to sponsor Easter Baskets that are sure to bring a smile to a child's face. Our goal is to raise donations enough to sponsor at least 10 baskets at $25 a piece. If you would like to sponsor a basket for $25 (or contribute any amount) just write "Easter Baskets" on your check or offering envelope. Place your donation in the offering plate, or drop it by the CHUMC office during the week. For additional information, please contact Rich Bensman at rb@labindc.com or Jenna Welch at JennaAWelch@yahoo.com.

Hoppin’ Down the Discipleship Trail…

Well, you don’t have to be hoppin’ but please do pop in for a visit with our STARs and deliver an Easter flower after church on Easter Sunday, March 23. They’ll get a blossom, but you’ll get to blossom with this simple Christian act.

STARs are seniors who can’t get to church, but thanks to you they’ll see some church family. We only have about six deliveries, so act quickly. Contact Carol Anderson at andercom@verizon.net for details. Thank you for living out what it means to be an Easter people.

Join us for the EASTER FEAST-er!

On Easter Sunday, following service, please join us as Cafe Capitol Hill and the CHUMC Congregation come together! You are invited to spend some time sharing food and fellowship with our homeless neighbors, downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. The Cafe Team will be hard at work, as usual, preparing a warm meal, and the day's menu will include ham, of course! We need YOU to provide the side dishes to make the feast complete! Participate in other ways as well : Lend and hand and help SERVE... Grab a plate and SHARE in the feasting... Pull up a chair and CONNECT with others! However you participate - it will be a wonderful way to CELEBRATE Easter! Contact Marta Johnson (marta_johnson@freddiemac.com / 301-257-2298) to sign up for a side dish, salad or dessert!

Reconciling Potluck Tonight

Bring a dish to pass, or just yourself to the Reconciling Potluck tonight (Sunday, March 16th) at 6pm. We will have a representative from BWARM (the Baltimore/ Washington Area Reconciling Methodists), as well as a woman from Methodists for Social Action. We'll also learn how WE can make a difference in our church. Please do join us! Email or call Laura Rossbert with any questions: laura.a.robertson@gmail.com or 202-680-2064.
