On September 23, join Team CHUM for the 2nd annual Humane Society Walk for the Animals. Bring your canine friend—or walk for a pet who prefers to stay at home—and enjoy a mile-long stroll around the Washington Monument. All proceeds benefit the Washington Humane Society's lifesaving adoption, humane education, and spay/neuter programs (www.washhumane.org). All (human) walkers must register before the event, so join Team CHUM's registered team at www.humanesocietywalk.org. To do so, click on "Sponsor a Team" and search for the team name - Team CHUMC - or go to https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamPage.aspxEventID=12276&LangPref=en-CA&TeamID=45609.
Can't walk? Then sponsor the Team instead (at the Team's link)! The walk begins at 1pm; let Student Associate Dottie Yunger or a member of the Local Missions Team know you will be joining us.
After the walk, bring your pet - or a picture of a pet at home - to CHUMC's 3rd annual Bless the Pets Service at 3pm in Seward Square (across from the church). Refreshments will be served for both humans and pets, and a love offering will be collected for the Washington Human Society. Feel free to invite fellow pet lovers you know! Contact Student Associate Dottie Yunger for more details or for a flyer you can distribute at work or in your neighborhood.
