Blue Christmas Worship

A Service of Reflection & Hope on the Longest Night

Who It’s For: Anyone carrying grief, pain, loneliness, stress, or simply seeking a quiet, peaceful space amidst holiday busyness

While December is often filled with bright lights, festive music, and constant celebrations, for many of us, the holiday season can be deeply complicated and painful. The holidays can amplify feelings of grief, loss of a loved one, illness, strained relationships, depression, or heavy burdens about the state of our world.

Held on the winter solstice—the longest night of the calendar year—our Blue Christmas Worship offers a quiet, gentle sanctuary for reflection, prayer, and healing.

It is a service where you don’t have to “put on a happy face” or force festive cheer. Instead, we make sacred space to acknowledge our pain, remember those we miss, and find comfort in the promise that God’s light shines most tenderly in the darkest corners of our lives.

What to Expect

  • A Quiet, Contemplative Atmosphere: Soothing music, quiet prayer, gentle scripture readings, and intentional times of shared silence.

  • Candle Lighting: An invitation to light a candle of remembrance, prayer, or hope—honoring loved ones who have passed away, lifting up unspoken heartaches, or naming quiet hopes for healing.

  • No Pressure or Expectations: You are invited to sit back, listen, reflect, or pray. Come as you are: grieving, tired, uncertain, or just needing a moment of deep calm.

Whether you are walking through a difficult season yourself or simply wishing to hold space in quiet solidarity with others who are hurting, you are welcome here.
