Capitol Hill UMC will open its sanctuary doors to host an evening of sacred remembrance, interfaith vigil, and collective witness alongside the organizers of the Gaza Children’s Shroud.
For this solemn evening, the entire Gaza Children’s Shroud will be unveiled and displayed down the full length of our sanctuary aisle. This monumental memorial fabric bears the handwritten names of more than 20,000 children killed in Gaza. Together across faiths, traditions, and backgrounds, we gather to mourn innocent lives lost, honor their memories, and commit ourselves to peace, dignity, and justice.
Program & Vigil Highlights
The Full Shroud Unveiling: Witness the installation of the complete Gaza Children’s Shroud stretching down the sanctuary chancel and center aisle, providing a tangible space for contemplation and remembrance.

Testimonies from Palestinian Families: Hear firsthand personal accounts and reflections shared directly by Palestinian family members.
Keynote Addresses: Featuring special addresses on bearing witness and making justice by Father John Heagle, Chair of Priests Against Genocide USA, alongside leadership representatives from Doctors Against Genocide.
